Satellite Communications System Training to Combat IEDs

Explosive ordnance disposal teams rely on mobile, secure satellite terminals to communicate and access vital intelligence and operational planning information.

Department of Defense, United States of America techniques.org is developing courseware so military personnel receive the training they need to operate the complex satellite system that helps them gather vital information on improvised explosive devices (IEDs). This satellite system is cutting-edge technology, but it must be used and operated correctly to successfully gather information and save lives during the global war on terror. Ordnance teams will use the satellite system to:

  • Access Web-based incident reporting tools, intelligence sites, geographic plotting, and incident mapping tools
  • Share explosive ordnance response tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Combat evolving terrorist tactics
  • Provide intelligence necessary to identify bomb makers
This project has an expedited schedule, but techniques.org is ahead of that schedule by more than a month. Thus, U.S. service members slated for imminent overseas deployment are already using the prototype to take this online course. techniques.org is dedicated to delivering an effective course as soon as possible to our nation's service members.
