SCORM & 508
Our SCORM Expertise
techniques.org has created thousands of hours of Shareable Content Object Reference Model– (SCORM-) conformant content. We are a proponent of standards-based e-learning, which is why we are a certified SCORM Adopter and work closely with Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Co-Laboratory and other organizations to improve SCORM's standards for flexibility and content reusability. Although techniques.org is not focused on developing learning management systems (LMSs), we are proud of our record of having developed the first SCORM 2004–certified LMS on the market.
Because of our long history with SCORM, we know how to create SCORM-conformant content that is as interactive as it is interoperable. At techniques.org, content is king and will not be compromised even as we ensure flexibility and reusability.
Dedication to Accessibility
Today, as many as 20 percent of Americans have a disability. techniques.org knows that a disability does not have to pose a barrier to learning. We believe that technology can help overcome many barriers to education and knowledge. In fact, Ryan Gilmer, the founder of techniques.org, has a learning disability and had to develop "techniques" so he could learn.
So, at techniques.org, developing accessible content isn't something we do to fulfill a requirement. Rather, it's a passion to ensure that individuals can learn in whatever way works best for them. We are dedicated to creating useful content that is also usable for all learners. Therefore, we enthusiastically support Section 508 specifications. |
